I started to look for inspiration from websites I've seen in the past and liked.
I started with my favourite animator, Jeff Le Bars
http://jefflebars.com/
I really like the simple colour palette of his website and how and how everything is set out in a really easy to use way.
I think I will keep my webite really simple and only use three colours tops throughout to maintain the theme.

I then started looking at some band websites that I have remembered liking in the past.
https://www.nbthieves.com/
I really like the black background on the website and the white lettering makes it really punchy.
Royal Blood Website.

Looking at these websites made me decide that i wanted mine to be very minimal and leave space in between each piece of work.
Radiohead Website
http://www.radiohead.co.uk/
Foals Website
HOME PAGE
I put a moon pattern I found on google as the background which i really liked and fit in with the marketing behind the name. I had originally wanted to make a logo, but ran out of time, I found that this was a good alternative.
With my first edit, I made the titles quite big, I then had another look at Jeff Le Bars website and found that it looked much sleeker when it was smaller. I prefer it much more the second way.
This way also puts a lot more emphasis on the moon part at the header.
I put a slideshow directly under my header with links to all the different parts of my website and then put my showreel directly underneath.
I put links to each part of the website on this slideshow so people can click directly to the pages from there.
ILLUSTRATION PAGE
I tried my illustration page with the moon background but didn't like it
It distract the eye from the art so I tried it with a leather pattern I found online
...But I thought this was a bit random and 'off brand' it had nothing to with my work or the 'moonface' part of my website design
...I found a plain black background to be much more effective.
As you can see I also made it very clear and easy to get to each part of the website with buttons in the header.
I put my work which had similar colour palettes next to each other so it wasn't too distracting on the eye.
ANIMATION PAGE
After designing the Illustration page, I decided to do the Animation page in the same way, with a black background.
I made an effort to credit anyone who I worked with in collaborative work on this page and put a link to the full version of the video at the top so people can watch the full production with everyone's work involved.
ABOUT ME PAGE
For this page I decided to put the moon background back on and the page is talking about me and 'moonface productions'
I wanted this page to be really friendly so people would be aware of what kind of person I was if they were interested in contacting me, I would rather I come across and approachable than 100% professional .
CONTACT ME PAGE
I based this page heavily on Jeff Le Bars Contact Me page, I wanted it to be really simple and easy to contact me.
I then linked up my over social media accounts and put them at the footer of the all the pages.
Altogether I am very happy with how my website ended up. I am very happy I researched other websites I like before hand as it influenced how mine turned out a lot.
Right before I was about to finish I realised my menu bar had stopped working and wasn't responding to let you go to other pages. It also wasn't wasn't letting me click on it to delete it, so I had to put a black strip at the top of the page to cover it. Unfortunately you can still see it when you click in between pages. It's a shame but it's the best I could do with the situation.
Showreel 1
This was my edit of my showreel, I still had some work missing from it and i made it before I made some changes to my last animation which looked a bit messy.
Showreel 2:
For my final edit, I used a really up beat music. My showreel for first year was very slow as I felt that it suited my work better last year. This year, I wanted to really work on the editing and make it as punchy as I could. I feel that I have got much better at editing this year and wanted to show the difference.
I chose to use my favourite work from this year and last year. It's a shame I didn't focus more on Stop Motion this year as I feel that I am stronger in that area of animation.
